New Moon In Scorpio
Purging and Burning off of Impurities
Can you feel the energy burning off what you no longer need to carry? Can you trust the power of the flame?
None of us can deny the feeling of intensity that keeps getting stronger. We may feel squeezed between two choices, feel like we have no good choice to make or decide not to make a choice at all. Trust me, I am not just talking about the U.S. Presidential election here. There are so many high-stakes choices swirling around in our heads that seem like they will make or break us. It is a turbulent time at best.
This New Moon in Scorpio heralds another beginning, which may be a fresh start or a re-start, depending upon what the priority is in your life and the circumstances surrounding it. The Sun and Moon are in a flowing relationship with Saturn so whatever beginning they are representing, it has support and longevity build in. There is a somewhat rare formation in the chart of this lunation called the Kite, made up of three trines in the water element between Mercury, Mars, and Neptune; two sextiles to Pluto by Mercury and Neptune; and finally, an opposition between Mars and Pluto. The trines and sextiles are positive aspects that call us to flow with the energy or integrate it within, and the opposition is a stressful aspect that requires us to reconcile the two sides and find some middle ground that works for us. Mars and Pluto are the traditional and modern rulers of Scorpio, the sign of the New moon, so they “rule” the new moon. Mars is the focal point for this Kite formation, representing action, expression, and initiation. Pluto represents destruction and transformation. This New Moon calls us to transform our actions, and expression, to begin anew.
It's time to harness this powerful energy! As we observe the influences of planetary movements in our lives and communities, we can clearly see that signs of conflict or inequality are rooted in past choices. We have the strength to release these outdated patterns and confidently embrace new possibilities. Each of us possesses the power to make choices that align with the life we truly desire. Our individual actions shape our collective experience, and together, we are unstoppable agents of change!
As we have experienced through many interactions between planets this year, it is crucial that we show up in our daily lives as authentically as we know how to be. To do this, we must nurture ourselves and other people around us with a genuine honoring of individuality and a stalwart belief in the ability of humans to change their behavior and attitude once they change their thinking. We all need that grace given to us. It is an important time to recognize the humanity within the person next to you and celebrate it. Many struggle with questions and fears about how our lives will change due to the growth of Artificial Intelligence. The most important antidote to any scary outcomes is to key into what makes us human and celebrate those attributes like never before. I have to say that, as a global community, we have taken our humanness for granted. What can we do as individuals to cherish our own and other people’s humanness? If we all can practice that to our best ability, equality and kindness naturally follow.
During the next 28 days, if you embrace any spiritual practice, calm and strengthen yourself through that. If not, you can easily begin to practice breathwork and simple meditation to become more conscious of yourself and the world around you. The goal is to quiet your mind because it can get even louder in the collective as things continue to fall apart and come together. Try to take steps to nurture your visions of harmony by elevating equality and fairness within your connections and interactions. New choices can be made and a greater balance achieved.
The Moon and the Sun will meet at 9°35’ Scorpio. The areas most affected in everyone’s natal chart are 4°-14° Scorpio, Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius. If your natal chart has planets or points within these degree points, expect that this new moon will personally affect your life more directly than other people whose chart does not have planetary engagement at those locations in their chart. If these points are not emphasized in your birth chart, you will see the influences of this new moon in the lives of those around you and in your communities.

What is your rising sign/ascendant/sign on the cusp of the first house?
When reading generalized horoscopes such as these, connect with the sign at the first house cusp rather than your sun sign because planets or luminaries, like the sun and moon, move, but the ascendant is set for the horizon at the location at the time of your birth, and such, is a fixed point. In other words, your sun could be in any of the houses depending upon your specific chart but your ascendant sign aligns with the zodiac wheel.
